God the Mother of Sacrifice and Love(World Mission Society Church of God)
The Bible says that God is love (1Jn. 4:8). Until we have got where we are today, there have been God the Father who established the new covenant-the truth of life-through His sacrifice and God the Mother who spares no effort to lead us to the eternal kingdom of heaven even at this moment.
Father's love is unmeasurable, and Mother's love is even more unfathom-able, so we cannot grasp the depths of Her love for us. From Mother comes the power that enables the members of Zion to help one another and to become united in love. The endless sacrifice and love of Mother are defeating all the hindrances of Satan in the invisible spiritual world and are leading us, Her children, to victory. Now, let's take some time to confirm this fact through the Bible.
A lavish love
A long time ago, a teacher and his students made a long journey in order to obtain enlightenment. While walking along the road, they discussed about what the greatest love in the world is. When they arrived at a village, many human bones were found heaped up together. A sudden accident or disaster had probably overtaken the whole village.
Looking at so many human bones laying twisted and tangled up together, the teacher seemed suddenly struck by a thought, and asked his students if they could find a woman's bone among those bones. His students just looked at one another's faces, unable to select a woman's bone easily.
Then the teacher picked up one of the bones, and said it was the bone of a woman. His students asked how he could recognize a woman's bone so easily among those numerous bones. The teacher explained the reason to them as follows:
"Think about a woman's life first. When she is young, she is always treated as less than a man just because she is female. When she gets married and becomes pregnant, she provides all the nourishment in her body to her unborn baby. When she gives birth to her child, she has to shed blood. Moreover, when she breast-feeds her baby, all the nutrients in her body are passed on to her child through her breast milk. Since she does so, how can the nutrients remain in her bones? Such a bitter and sacrificial life of a woman has made her bone light and dark like this."
Listening to the teacher, his students were all reminded of their mothers. ‘Such is the life of a mother. She only gives her children everything, but there is nothing she can do for herself.' As they realized this, they became solemn for a while. They were deeply moved to hear their teacher say that a mother gives her children everything-even the marrow of her bones-in the process of being pregnant, giving birth to them and raising them. Thinking of their mothers, they all shed tears.
A mother is the one who gives unconditional love to her children. She only gives her children everything she has. Why is the life of every mother on this earth so devotional? Why did God make a mother into such a sacrificial being?
A mother continuously tries to give everything to her children with careful concern for them, wishing them to succeed and prosper in life, even though she herself suffers a lot. This love and sacrifice is the nature of a mother. I believe that God has put the spirit of love and sacrifice in the hearts of mothers on this earth because it is the spiritual nature of our Heavenly Mother.
Those who love Jerusalem, and those who do not serve Jerusalem
Like the disciples in the above story, who obtained realization from what their teacher said and were moved to tears, thinking of their mothers, we shall also realize the sacrifice and love of our spiritual Mother and engrave it deep in our hearts.
Isa. 66:10~14『"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her. For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance." For this is what the LORD says: "I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees. As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the LORD will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes.』
In Galatians it is written, "But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother" (Gal. 4:26). So, "those who love Jerusalem" means "those who love their spiritual Mother." Mother has given us everything-Her flesh and blood and even Her bones, until She has nothing left to give and Her bones become very light. We must realize how much Mother gives us and how much pain and sorrow She endures behind the scenes.
God bestows His blessings on those who realize the love of Jerusalem Mother, and He pours out His wrath upon those who do not realize Her love and turn away from Her.
The above prophecy of Isaiah 60 sings the glory of Jerusalem that is to appear in the future. It also proclaims God's warning that on the last day He will judge all peoples and nations that do not serve Jerusalem.
Proclaim the glory of Jerusalem to the whole world
In order for God's people, who were small and weak, to become a mighty nation, they should display the glory of Jerusalem throughout the world. God our Father told us to proclaim Jerusalem's glory to the whole world without rest.
Isa. 60:21~22『"Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."』
Isa. 62:6~7『I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.』
The Bible repeatedly urges us not to stop spreading the glory of Jerusalem all over the world. If we understand Mother's boundless sacrifice, love and pain, we should proclaim Her glory to the ends of the earth.
Through mothers on this earth, we can understand the sacrifice and love of Heavenly Mother even a little bit. Every earthly system, everything done on this earth, is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven, and God created all things by His will (Heb. 8:5; Rev. 4:11).
If the love of a father is an invisible fence that surrounds us and keeps us safe, the love of a mother works more directly and closely with her children. Suppose an urgent situation where children are caught in a fire. When this happens, fathers tend to judge the situation rationally, but mothers judge it sensitively. Fathers are likely to make a rational judgment: ‘Since the fire has become this big, if I fail to get them out of the fire within a few seconds, both of us will die.' On the other hand, mothers run into the fire first in order to save their children. A mother's love is so unconditional.
Victory given through Mother's sacrifice and love
Thus, we are growing in the love of Mother who lavishly sacrifices everything to save us, Her children. That's why we, the offspring of the woman, can win the spiritual war against Satan in the end.
Ge. 3:15『"And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."』
God said that He would put enmity between the serpent and the woman. The woman is described as the "mother of all the living" (Ge. 3:20). The woman (Mother) and the serpent (Satan) are enemies to each other. The offspring of the woman and the offspring of the serpent are also enemies to each other.
The devil our enemy sets all sorts of traps and snares in order to tempt us to disobey the holy will of our heavenly Mother. He devises many schemes to make us waste our time on earthly things that are meaningless and transient.
In order to resist the temptations of Satan and to win victory over him, we absolutely need to make efforts to obey Jerusalem Mother and put Her words into practice, with love for Her. Heavenly Mother is working even at this moment, sparing no pains, for us Her children. How about us? What are we doing now? Are we not absorbed in things for physical comfort and pleasure and wasting our time on such worthless things? Or, are we trying to save souls while giving and sharing, along with Mother? We need to reflect on ourselves.
Rev. 12:9『The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.』
Rev. 12:17『Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring-those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.』
The great dragon was hurled down, and the identity of the dragon was discovered to be the serpent in the Garden of Eden. The serpent was expelled from heaven, and is opposing the woman on this earth.
In the Bible, the dragon or the serpent refers to Satan the devil. Satan was enraged at God the Mother and went off to make war against the rest of Her offspring-those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Although Satan is reigning over numerous people like the sand of the sea, he is destined to lose every war.
Rev. 20:7~10『When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth-Gog and Magog-to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.』
The spiritual warfare between the serpent and the woman-between the offspring of the serpent and the offspring of the woman-is to end with the punishment of the dragon in an unquenchable fire where he will be tormented forever and ever.
Satan can never triumph over Mother. Since Mother has "love" the greatest power, how can Satan win?
The power that enables God's children to be victorious is the endless love of Mother who protects Her children, even at the risk of Her own life. So, those who love Jerusalem display Her glory wherever they are, and proclaim Her holy sacrifice and love to the ends of the earth.
Salvation achieved through sacrifice
Satan is doomed to be tormented in the eternal fire of hell. Now, let's see where God our Mother is leading us, Her children.
Rev. 22:1~5 『Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.』
God our Mother has continuously guarded and protected us, Her loving children, from every evil scheme of Satan to lead us to the way of eternal life and to ultimately raise us as the heavenly royal priesthood who will reign forever and ever. Until She has done that, spiritually Her flesh and bones have become so weak and frail. Everything good has been taken by Her children. She has given Her children all things that can help them. The six thousand year long period has been a series of such spiritual struggles. We can fully understand it even though we do not hear the explanation regarding how light and frail a woman's bone is.
Those who do not realize the love of Jerusalem our heavenly Mother cannot stand at the position of the heavenly royal priesthood. They cannot resist and overcome the power of Satan. Only when we cherish the love of Mother and put it into practice, we will be able to become "those who overcome" (Rev 3:12), just as Mother has won eternal victory.
Preaching without love is lifeless. It is only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Only when we fill our hearts with God's holy love, we can preach sincerely and practice true love. Mother's love that works within us enables us to take care of one another, to correct someone if he or she has a wrong thought and to help another out if he or she goes astray, so that we will all be able to enter the kingdom of heaven together.
Let's share the love we have received from Mother with our brothers and sisters and with our neighbors and all people around the world, who have not received the truth yet, so that the glorious way can be opened for them all to fly into the arms of Heavenly Mother like clouds, like doves to their nests, according to the prophecy of Isaiah. As children of Mother, we should also care about many people around us with love for them, always remembering that the source of love is Heavenly Mother, and should repay Mother for the love we have received from Her. I earnestly hope that all our brothers and sisters in Zion will follow Mother wherever She leads us and give glory, praise and thanks to Her all the time.
Heavenly Father and Mother want us all to become a royal priesthood in heaven. Elohim have told us not to lose the glorious position but hold on to it, so that no one will take our crowns (Rev. 3:11). Serving Heavenly Mother and receiving Mother's abundant love, let us preach the gracious love of life-the heavenly love-to all people around the world and provide the love to them as much as we can, so that we will all go to the eternal kingdom of heaven together.

The Wages of Sin Is Death (World Mission Society Church of God)
The Bible says that death came to all men because all sinned (Rom 5:12). Those who do not believe in God complain, saying, "Whenever we go to the church, we hear that we are sinners. Why do Christians say that?" However, in actuality, all people are basically sinners.
We do believe in God. So, we give thanks and praise to God for having saved us, sinners, who were destined to die. Even we, who admit ourselves to be sinners, do not completely realize what kind of sin we committed, and fail to repent fully. We need to examine ourselves.
God has saved us, who committed the most grievous sin. Now, let's take time to ruminate about how great God's saving grace is.
The heavenly children who committed sin
2,000 years ago, when Jesus came to this earth, He began to preach the gospel with the word, "Repent!" (Matt 4:17). The Bible teaches us that we were angels in heaven before we were born on this earth. What happened to us in heaven, that Christ urged us to repent when He came to this earth to save mankind and first began to preach?
Let's consider the kingdom of heaven where we originally lived, and find out the will of God who has saved us.
Pr. 8:22~31『"The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. When there were no oceans, I was given birth, when there were no springs abounding with water; before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. ... and when he marked out the foundations of the earth. Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind.』
In the above verses, "I" designates Solomon, who was the third king of Israel.(pr. 1:1) When he wrote the book of Proverbs, he stated that he already existed before the creation of the earth. From this, we can see that he existed as a spiritual being before he came to this earth and he lived in the angelic world, the kingdom of God.
Not only Solomon but also all humans born on this earth were angels who lived in the kingdom of heaven, filled with delight day after day. Why have such glorious angels come down to this earth to live such painful lives? There must be a certain reason for such a tragic result. As we consider that Christ told us to "repent" when He reminded us of the heavenly kingdom, we can guess that we committed something that needs repenting, when we were in heaven.
1Jn. 1:8~10『If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.』
Christ didn't tell the innocent and righteous to repent. We all committed sin in heaven and were cast down to the earth. Then, what kind of sin did we commit in heaven that we were thrown down to the earth? We need to know the nature and magnitude of our sin.
The sin committed in heaven
The Bible tells us how the king of Babylon and the king of Tyre lived before they came to the earth. Like Solomon and all the other people born on this earth, they were also angels who enjoyed delight and glory in heaven.
Isa. 14:4, 12~15『you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon ... How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.』
Eze. 28:11~17『"Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says . . . You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, ... Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, ... You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.』
In the above verses, we can see that the angels, who became proud and tried to raise their throne above the stars of God, finally committed sin and were punished by God. Through the case of the king of Babylon and the king of Tyre, God shows us how grave sin we committed in heaven before we came to this earth.
We were so proud and rebellious that we committed treason against God in heaven and were cast down to this earth. We committed such a horrendous sin in heaven. That's why we live a life full of pain and sorrow on this earth and then die in the end. Let's consider the degree or intensity of our sin through a verse in Romans 6.
The wages of our sin is death
We seem to live freely on this earth, but viewed from the spiritual world we are confined by the restraints of time and space. We are sinners destined to die eternally, that is, we are prisoners on death row.
Ro. 6:23『For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.』
Living in this world, humans may commit a crime or offense like breaking traffic regulations under unavoidable circumstances. However, the death penalty is not imposed for minor offenses. Considering that the wages of our sin is death, we can see that the sin we committed is so grave that it can never be atoned for without death.
Spiritually we are condemned prisoners who committed a terrible sin in heaven and have come down to this earth. Nevertheless, we easily forget this fact. So, Christ told us to repent, humble ourselves, and serve others. By this He ultimately meant that we should realize we are sinners.
Recently I watched a documentary about condemned prisoners. Prisoners on death row suffer from anxiety and fear from the day when they are sentenced to death, unaware of when they will be executed. From the moment they wake up in the morning, they are in constant fear that they could be executed today and get even frightened when they are called out to meet a visitor. As they go to bed after the evening roll call, they put their minds at ease, thankful that the day passed without execution. This is the life of prisoners on death row; they live in fear of death every day.
They all say that once they are forgiven for their sins, they will pay their debt to society for the rest of their lives. If somebody tells them to serve all people, saying he's going to forgive them, they will do that wholeheartedly. If he tells them to lead other prisoners to repentance, they will also do that. No matter what words they hear, even if somebody slaps them on their cheeks, they will put up with it. They were on death row but now their lives have been saved. Isn't there anything they wouldn't do? Nothing.
If anyone shows himself off and tries to exalt himself over others, it's because he still does not realize who he is. When Father and Mother saved us sinners, who were waiting for death, They told us to be humble, serve one another, and be considerate of each other. We are obligated to follow Their words because we have received the forgiveness of sins through Their boundless love.
The grace of God who has atoned for our sin leading to death
There is a law in heaven, too. To forgive our sin, without breaking the heavenly law, our heavenly Father and Mother have become the sin offering for us. Only death could expiate our sin, so our heavenly Parents paid the penalty that we deserved for our sin, in our stead, enduring all kinds of sufferings.
Isa. 53:1~6『Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? ... Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.』
We've been redeemed from sin at a great price; our Father died in our place for our sins, and our Mother suffered in our stead. Since our Father and Mother have taken up all our iniquities, we've been able to be saved.
God established the law of the Passover so that His children might not forget His death, and let them eat His flesh and drink His blood through the Passover.
Jn. 6:53~57『Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. ... so the one who feeds on me will live because of me."』
Mt. 26:17~19, 26~28『... So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. ... While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."』
In the Passover is contained the love of God who gave His body as a ransom to save us, the condemned prisoners who were destined for death. The Passover also contains God's earnest command not to forget His love and not to fall into sin again.
For a convict on death row, there can be no greater joy than to hear the news that he will be forgiven for his sin and his life will be saved. When the Passover comes every year, we just rejoice in having received eternal life, eating bread and wine. In reality, we are the most un-filial of all in the universe because we've gained life by eating our Parents' flesh and drinking Their blood. However, our Father and Mother were pleased just with the fact that Their children repented and were not involved in the same sin again (see Isa. 53:10~11).
When we eat the Passover bread, we have to remember that our Parents gave Their precious body and blood for us to eat in order to save us. When we drink the Passover wine, we have to remember that our sin was so great that it couldn't be forgiven without the precious blood of our Parents, and we should give thanks to Them for Their sacrifice. When we do this, we can be said to have truly realized the truth of the new covenant.
Live a purgatorial life by realizing the true meaning of the new covenant
Now, let's obey everything God has told us. God said to us, "Serve one another, be humble, and preach fervently." There is a certain reason why God has commanded us to do so.
There is nothing that condemned prisoners can't do if only they can be forgiven for their sins. Whatever they do, no matter how hard and difficult the task is, it will be a very joyful time for them, compared to the time they spent waiting for death. We are such sinners who need to continue repenting desperately.
There are many Christians who say they are sinners but do not know what kind of sin they committed, so they sin repeatedly. The children of Zion must not be like them. We are not righteous. We didn't do anything good in heaven before we came to this earth, so we have no right to rule over others. All we have to do is repent much and always live a contrite life.
Thinking of the Christ who took our place and died for us the mortal sinners, Paul realized that nothing in the world would be able to separate us from the love of Christ.
Ro. 8:31-39 『... Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.』
Paul beat his body and submitted himself to God's word every day; he preached the gospel in spite of all dangers, with a determination that he would live for the Lord if he lived, and that if he died, he would die for the Lord. After he realized how great and precious God's love was, he couldn't stop being joyful and thankful to God, and he told his brothers to be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances.
Remember that our sin deserves the death penalty. What does God want from us who have received the forgiveness of sins through God's deep and profound love? What is most pleasing to God is realizing His love and leading all people around the world to the kingdom of heaven by teaching them the way to have the forgiveness of sins and guiding them to repentance. This is the reason why we preach the new covenant. If we fully understand the new covenant, we should please our Father and Mother by practicing such devotion and love.
The 144,000 who are redeemed from the earth do not insist on doing things their own way but follow the Lamb wherever He goes (Rev. 14:1~5). They do not follow Him blindly, but they are willing to do everything for God, who has forgiven their sins and given them life, since they have realized that they are sinners who should have paid the price for their sin with death. We need to realize the severity of our sin, look back upon our past, come to complete repentance, and obey everything God has commanded us. I truly want you children of heaven to preach the good news of salvation to all people around the world and participate in God's great work of saving all mankind together.

Proclaim the Glory of Jerusalem to the World
World Mission Society Church of God believes in Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother.
In this age, only God the Father Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother (Heavenly Mother) can give us salvation.
Every single prophecy in the Bible has been fulfilled in human history without fail, and is still being fulfilled today. Some prophecies, which still remain unfulfilled, will surely be fulfilled soon according to the providence of God.
Now, we have the most important prophecy of the Bible before us. God said that the glory of Jerusalem would be proclaimed to all the nations of the world. Even though there is a prophecy, unless we ask God and make an effort to fulfill the prophecy, it will be delayed in its fulfillment and we will not share in the glory which is prophesied. As the soldiers of the heavenly army in Zion, we should keep in step with the prophecy and proclaim the glory of Jerusalem to the whole world.
Jerusalem will be a praise in the earth
The prophet Isaiah prophesied about Jerusalem who would be the praise and glory of the earth as follows.
Isa. 62:6~7『"I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth."』
Isa. 66:10~14『"Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; ... As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; ..."』
The prophecy about Jerusalem is mentioned many times in the book of Isaiah. The Bible says that it is God's will for Jerusalem to be praised by all the nations of the world and that we, all the children of God, will be comforted and glad in Jerusalem.
Who is Jerusalem that she will be praised and honored by all the nations of the world? As it is generally known, Jerusalem is a specific place located in the Middle East. How can a mere city called Jerusalem be established by God Himself and praised and honored by all the nations of the earth? How can we be carried and comforted in the arms of Jerusalem if it indicates a physical place?
Taking the prophecies literally will only increase doubts. As the Bible says, "... expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words" (1Co. 2:13), we need to find out what the spiritual Jerusalem, not the earthly one, means in the Bible.
The heavenly Jerusalem is our Mother
The Bible mentions not only the earthly Jerusalem but also the heavenly Jerusalem. Now, let's find out what God wants to show us through Jerusalem.
Gal. 4:26『But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.』
It is written that the Jerusalem that is above is our mother. The Bible personifies Jerusalem on earth to show us its reality, the heavenly Jerusalem our Mother. It says in the Bible that we will be comforted in Jerusalem and satisfied at her comforting breasts. This shows that we, children of Jerusalem, will grow up spiritually, being comforted by our heavenly Mother, like a child who is dandled on his mother's knees and in her arms.
The Bible prophesies that Jerusalem will be praised and glorified in the earth. This prophecy does not refer to the earthly Jerusalem located in the Middle East. As spiritual watchmen, we should proclaim the glory of God to all the nations and clearly testify that it is God's firm will for Jerusalem our Mother to be praised in the earth.
Until the prophecy is completely fulfilled, we must continually pray to God that the day will come soon when the glory of Jerusalem our Mother will be proclaimed throughout the whole world. The gospel work will be finished when Mother is proclaimed and revealed throughout all the nations of the world.
The Bible continues to explain:
Gal. 4:27~31『For it is written: "Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband." Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son." Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.』
We are children of the free woman, our Mother, and also children of promise. What God promised us is eternal life (1 John 2:25). So, children of promise can be called children of eternal life. As we are children of Mother, we become children of promise who can receive eternal life and inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Children of promise like Isaac
Isaac was born to Abraham by his wife Sarah, and he became Abraham's heir. Sarah, the wife of Abraham, represents our heavenly Mother. That's why the Bible calls us "children of promise like Isaac."
Abraham, the forefather of faith, represents God the Father. Let's find out what the relationship between Abraham and God is, through the parable of the rich man and Lazarus spoken by Jesus.
Lk. 16:19~31『There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me ...'』
In the parable, when Lazarus and the rich man died, Lazarus was carried to Abraham's side and the rich man went to hell and was in torment. Strangely enough, the rich man in hell called to Abraham in heaven, "Father Abraham, ..." It is only God who can be called Father in the spiritual world. In other words, Abraham represents God.
The history of Abraham's family is described in various places throughout the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible. In Abraham's family, the matter of an heir was mentioned many times, and finally Isaac, whom Sarah bore, became the heir of Abraham. It was Sarah, Isaac's mother, that had a crucial role in deciding the heir.
Why do many verses in the Bible specifically describe an individual's family history? There is a certain reason for this. The history of Abraham's family shows us that Jerusalem our Mother has a decisive role in qualifying us as God's heirs to inherit His kingdom.
Abraham's family and Mother
Gen. 15:1~5『After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram (the original name of Abraham) in a vision: "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?" And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir." Then the word of the LORD came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir." ...』
When Abraham was 85 years old, he still had no son. So, he wanted to make Eliezer, a servant in his household, his heir to inherit his estate. However, God said that Eliezer was not suitable to be Abraham's heir and that a son coming from his own body would be his heir.
Gen. 16:1~6, 15『Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar; so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said. ... Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. ... So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.』
Abraham's wife Sarah gave her maidservant Hagar to her husband as his concubine. When Hagar conceived, she began to despise her mistress Sarah. Since Sarah bore no children, she was despised by her maidservant. Afterward, she continued to suffer mental distress and anguish for about 14 years until Isaac was born.
When Hagar bore Ishmael to Abraham, he seemed to have an heir. However, God said to Abraham, "A son coming from your own body will be your heir." It was not God's will for Ishmael to be Abraham's heir. God wanted a son, who would be born to Abraham by Sarah his wife-the free woman, to become Abraham's heir.
Gen. 17:1~7, 15~19『When Abram was ninety-nine years old, ... God also said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her." Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?" And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!" Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him."』
Abraham assumed that Ishmael would be his heir. However, God said that He would establish His covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah would bear to him. God didn't allow Eliezer to be Abraham's heir for the reason that he was not his own son. Even though Ishmael was Abraham's son, God rejected him as his heir because he was born by the slave woman. God acknowledged only Isaac who would be born through Sarah.
As God had promised, one year later Sarah bore a son, Isaac, who became Abraham's heir through his mother, Sarah (Gen 21:1-12).
The heavenly inheritance is given through Mother
The history of Abraham's family shows through whom we can become God's children and inherit the kingdom of God. God has made those who are like Isaac children of promise and allowed them the blessing of eternal life. As Isaac was designated as Abraham's heir through his mother, so we can become God's heirs through our Mother and enjoy the precious blessing of eternal life.
Those who do not know Jerusalem our Mother can never become children of promise like Isaac. God said, "A son coming from your own body will be your heir." Ishmael was the first begotten son of Abraham, who was 14 years older than Isaac. Nevertheless, why didn't God accept Ishmael as Abraham's heir? Ishmael represents those who know God only as Father. However, the Bible clearly shows that there is God the Mother as well.
God has determined not to give the heavenly inheritance to those who have no part with Him. He doesn't accept the people, who believe in God the Father but do not believe in God the Mother, as His heirs. It is Mother who holds the final key. Everything on this earth is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. If we think about why God lets the physical life be given through a mother, we can understand what the divine will is.
Surely there is a reason why God establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. The history of Abraham's family shows how much Mother has suffered until She is glorified. However, it expresses just a little bit of Her suffering. Until we've received eternal life promised by God, there's been the great sacrifice of Mother, who has suffered so much for 6,000 years in order to lead Her children to heaven. Mother grants us, Her children, eternal life through Her invisible, inexpressible pains. That's why God does not rest until He makes Mother the praise of the earth. The Bible describes the scene that God's children, who have received Jerusalem Mother, nurse and are satisfied at Her comforting breasts, delighting in Her overflowing abundance, like a child.
Heavenly Mother whom the Bible testifies about
The existence of our heavenly Mother is already recorded in Genesis. Let's look back to the time when our heavenly Mother did the work of creation together with our heavenly Father.
Gen. 1:26~27『Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.』
When God created man in His own image, male and female were created in the image of God. This suggests that there are two images of God: male and female. That's why God said when creating man, "Let us make man ...," instead of saying, "I will make man..."
Even before the creation of the world, both images of God already existed: the male image of God and the female image of God. Therefore, those who have received only God the Father cannot be God's heirs. Although they live together in Abraham's family and call him Lord or Father, they cannot inherit his estate, just as Eliezer and Ishmael, who were not children of Sarah, didn't inherit Abraham's property.
If we just call out to God without knowing Him correctly, we cannot communicate with God. We can worship God rightly when we know Him. Keeping the will of God in mind, we should quickly proclaim Jerusalem our Mother, who is life, to all the nations of the world. As the eternal kingdom of God is close at hand, we will bear more good fruit if we fully proclaim the glory of Jerusalem our Mother. God's prophecy must surely be fulfilled if we believe in it and put it into practice.
Proclaim the glory of the New Jerusalem to the whole world
We have to fulfill the prophecies of the Bible diligently. Young adult members like the dew of the dawn must arise; the gospel must be preached to all nations; and the prophesied 144,000, whom John saw, will all come to Mount Zion and be guided by the Spirit and the Bride.
We must not delay doing God's work. Even at this moment, time passes away. Making the most of every moment, let's proclaim the glory of Jerusalem our heavenly Mother all the more. Some will probably intend to defame the glory of Jerusalem, like Tobiah and Sanballat. However, even amid their hindrance, the city of Jerusalem was completed without fail, because it was the work of the Holy Spirit, not something men could accomplish by themselves.
We all experienced the work of the Holy Spirit during the Preaching Festival of the Feast of Tabernacles. The number of the souls we found during the week of the Preaching Festival is almost the same as the number of the souls whom we had found for a year. How can we say it's the work of men? Since we all became one with filial piety toward Jerusalem our Mother, the gracious work of the Holy Spirit occurred, like a good son in an ancient Korean story who moved heaven and was able to find strawberries for his old mother in the middle of the winter.
Now, through the fire of the Holy Spirit, let's proclaim the glory of Jerusalem our Mother to the whole world. Then the people of all nations will come together to see the glory of God, and when each of them returns he will proclaim God's glory in his country (Isa. 66:18~19). How amazing!
It is our mission to proclaim the glory of Jerusalem throughout the whole world. When Gideon's army of 300 soldiers broke the jars, held the torches hidden in them and shouted, "For the LORD!" they were able to defeat 135,000 men and won a great victory. Likewise, when we shout out the glory of Jerusalem, a marvelous work will occur. Now is the time for us to break the jars and hold the torches high. Let's shout altogether, lifting up the torches. Let us all arise and shine the light of the gospel to the whole world. Looking forward to the day when God's glory will be shone brightly all over the world, let us diligently proclaim the light of the glory of the New Jerusalem to the whole world.
